Brian D. Bixby

Brian D. Bixby, Esq., Treasurer, was appointed to the Board effective February, 2020. He is a partner at Burns & Levinson, where he serves as a Chair of the Private Client Group, Chair of the Probate Litigation Group, and as a member of the Trusts & Estates and Divorce & Family Law groups. His practice concentrates on probate court litigation, estate planning, fiduciary administration, family law, guardianships and conservatorships, and representation of individuals and fiduciaries.

Mr. Bixby is an active member of the American Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, is on the Probate Committee of the Boston Bar Association, and is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council. He is also involved in the Boston Probate and Estate Planning Forum, the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and is a board member in the New England Chapter of the Family Firm Institute, the Visiting Nurses Association of Boston Foundation, VNA Care Network Foundation, and VNA Private Care, Inc. He is a former President of the Massachusetts Family and Probate Inn of Court, he was a U.S. Delegate to the XII International Congress on Family Law.

Mr. Bixby received his A.B. from Brown University and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.

In 2016, he also received recognition as a “Litigation Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal.
