Welcome to the new website of the Massachusetts Clients’ Security Board.
The mission of the Clients’ Security Board, which was established in 1974 by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, is to promote the public’s confidence in the administration of justice and the integrity of the legal profession by reimbursing clients who suffered financial losses due to the dishonest conduct of their lawyer. A portion of every Massachusetts lawyer’s annual registration fee is held in trust and used by the Clients’ Security Board to make payments to law clients who have submitted valid claims for actual losses. No public funds are used by the Clients’ Security Board, and the members of the Board are not compensated for their service, but are volunteers.
The new website explains how to file a claim, including claim forms that may be downloaded, answers to frequently asked questions, and helpful links, including to the rules that govern the Clients’ Security Board.
My colleagues on the Board join me in welcoming you to the website and hope you find how the Clients’ Security Board may assist you.
