Notice of Vacancies on the Clients' Security Board

The Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court invite interested attorneys to apply for appointment to a five-year term on the Clients' Security Board, effective December 2022.

Pursuant to Supreme Judicial Court Rule 4:04, the Board is comprised of seven members of the Massachusetts bar and manages the fund used to discharge the bar's collective responsibility with respect to losses caused to the public by defalcations of members of the bar. The Board anticipates that members will be permitted to participate in Board business virtually as needed, though meetings may also be held in person on occasion when circumstances permit.

The Justices will be making two appointments to the Board. Experienced attorneys with expertise in bankruptcy law, insurance and personal injury litigation, or criminal defense are encouraged to apply. The Justices also seek applications from attorneys with legal aid, immigration, or other legal experience working with historically underrepresented or underserved communities.  Attorneys with diverse backgrounds and experiences, as well as those who practice outside of the immediate Boston metropolitan area, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter and one-page resume to Anna Rachel Dray-Siegel at by December 2, 2022. Please note that this deadline has been extended. If you already applied, there is no need to resubmit your application. If you have questions about the application process or the position, please contact Anna.
